Today we became parents.  Except for when I saw Robin walk down the aisle, this was the
best day of my life.  The emotions that we had and have are very difficult to describe.  The
overwhelming excitement overtook us.  We were anxiously waiting in the room with nervous
laugh and talk.  We waited for about 20 mins once we arrived at the government building,
then they brought them in one at a time.  Once we saw Josie, we knew she was ours.  She went
to Robin right away and then me.  You could tell that she was just as nervous as us.  Then all
hell broke loose.  Once she figured out that something was not right, she unleashed the most
devastating cry.  One that pierced our bubble.  Nothing we could do could comfort her.  It
lasted for about 2 1/2 hours.  Welcome to parenthood in the shrewdest way.  Once we got her
back to the hotel and calmed her down, and figured out how to make her formula her way
with the special nipples; all was well.  Only time that night we had another episode was when
we changed her clothes and diaper.  After that, it was gravy man..  Robin got her to giggle and
laugh, and she became daddy's little girl.  She stole my heart in less than a few hours.  I knew
that in an instant she was meant to be our daughter and that my life had changed forever.
This photo was taken only minutes
before she came into our lives.
It is a great honor to introduce our
daughter:
Josephine Wen Qin Wise
(Josie)

This is our first family photo.
I was a wreck or almost in shock.  I was
finally holding my daughter.

Proud mother is crying and laughing all
at the same time.  Full of emotions.
There was not too many photos taken
on Gotcha Day, for she had other plans
for us.  I got it all on video though.

These photos were taken today at the
government building.  We were
registering the adoption with the
Chinese government.  To the right, this
is a photo of our registration picture.
Here is Josie in her bath robe.  How
sweet is she.
We tried to put a hat on her to take her
outside, she had none of that.  It stayed
on long enough for me to take this
picture.
She seems quite puzzeled
by something. Aren't her lips
perfect.

"Gotcha" Day
Today was a great day.  Last night we didn't get much sleep, but today was a great day.  She is a happy
little sweetheart.   She went down around 10 and got back up around 1:30 for another feeding.  Then she
got back up around 3:30, but we just walked her back to sleep.  It only took about 5 mins.  We were on
guard last night.  We jumped with every whimper or movement.  We woke just before 5, so that Robin
could start to get ready.  Then she woke around 6.  We had to go back to the government building today
to fill out paperwork to bring her home.  The bus left at 8, which I felt was pretty early for new parents.
It only took us about 2 1/2 hours to wake and get out the door.  We weren't really prepared.  Anyway,
we spent about 3 hours at the government building.  We both began to feel really run down.  It was
probably 100 degrees in that building.  When we got back to the room, Robin began to go down.  She
was feeling horrible in the stomach and very light headed.  So I put her to bed and  had to take Josie to
the health clinic here at the hotel.  All the other girls from her orphanage were sick with bronchitis, ear
and sinus infections, and colds.  We had her checked to be safe.  She only has a mild sinus infection.  I
should have brought my exam equipment, for I would have been able to do the exam myself.  But I
should have not expected to much, the exam and meds only cost $20 US.  So, I'm here taking care of my
ladies.  Tomorrow, we have a free day.  It maybe a daddy day if Robin isn't feeling better.  Gotta go,
gotta feed Josie.

I love her up close shots.  She just woke
up from a nap
This is the face we get
when she is about to laugh.
